Job Summary

Responsible for all aspects of payroll processing and quality service for clients utilizing HCM (Human Capital Management) software. Responds to and resolves client questions and payroll issues in a timely and professional manner.  Must work well under pressure; meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.  Must demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and management.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintains a high rate of client retention through superior customer service, assisting assigned client base with all components related to payroll processing.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation and submission of payrolls whether submitted via the web, email, call-in/out or other methods

  • Trains clients to use HCM software including electronic reports, time interface and employee self-service when applicable.

  • Partners with Sales team to meet and exceed customer expectations and requirements in regards to Payroll as well as HR and Benefit products.

  • Researches and resolves tax issues as needed; updates SUI rate changes, etc.

  • Handles high volume of correspondence by telephone, email and fax

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in payroll and customer service with high-volume daily activity. Service Bureau experience helpful

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.

  • Analytical skills for real problem resolution.

  • Adaptable to shift of priorities working under critical time constraints and deadlines.

  • Outstanding organization and multi-tasking skills.

  • Basic knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax withholding laws

  • Familiarity with federal and state garnishment laws; payroll deductions such as benefit premiums, retirement plan contributions, etc.
