Benefits Specialist

Primary responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration: Manage enrollments, terminations, reporting and qualifying events for our clients.
  • Audit monthly billings from carriers, complete reconciliations against payroll deductions, add payroll adjustments as needed and make bill payments. 
  • ACA: Keep track of ACA for ALE’s, track eligibility and set-up ACA measurement and plan information utilizing HCMS.
  • Make sure the clients are tracking their enrolled employees throughout the year. 
  • Build medical plans for ACA reporting and attach employees to plans in HCMS. 
  • Promote services to groups over 50 each year that have not signed up for ACA services. 
  • Complete 1095’s annually. 
  • Full service COBRA Administration. 
  • Keep track of renewals, open enrollments, plan rate changes and updates.
  • Complete full service payroll processing for assigned client base.
  • Educate yourself with what basic compliance is needed for benefits administration, ACA reporting and COBRA in addition to staying up to date on HCMS.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have employee benefits administration experience.
  • ACA experience preferred.
  • COBRA experience preferred.
  • Service Bureau experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in utilizing HCMS and cloud based software systems.
  • Must be organized.
  • Must consistently maintain EXCELLENT customer service attitude and professionalism.
  • Must display an ability to work efficiently and accurately with IMPECCABLE attention to detail.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage BOTH deadlines and priorities.
  • Must display an intermediate or advanced level of proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook, in addition to strong technical aptitude
